We are ALL WONDERfully Made
We are all WONDERfully Made and we are all SPECIAL. What do we all have in common? We all want friends and people to be nice to us. So, why do statistics show that 1 in 4 children are bullied?

Eric J. Pollock talking with students
As professionals and parents of children in elementary schools, we firmly believe children need to be made aware that all kids are unique. They need to understand Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, etc so they will be compassionate and more likely to go out of their way to befriend individuals that they may have otherwise "bullied".

This presentation will focus on the following:
1) What are Special Needs? Provide a brief understanding of all types of disabilities and special needs.

2) Interactive activities to simulate the limitations of a child with special needs.

3) Show a video to display that children with all abilities can smile and have fun, but some may need assistance. Most importantly, this demonstration will allow students to gain a general understanding that ALL children are unique and special in their own way.

“I think it was appropriate for the third graders. They seemed to be interested and were active participants. Many even felt comfortable to talk about family members or friends that they know who have some of the disabilities they mentioned. I thought the activities they did made the kids realize how frustrating it may be to those who do have needs. Most importantly, after the assembly was over, I watched as a couple kids made an effort to say hello and to help students with disabilities with their jackets for recess in our own school. It was so nice to see!”
