Today, inclusion in Physical Education is essential and helps encourage social interaction and healthy development.
Although, Physical Education Teachers have the best interest of the children in mind, they need to be educated in how to modify activities so that all students can participate.
Making Physical Education a good experience for every child regardless of their ability level does not have to limit the more competitive children or exclude those students that can not perform the required skills as accurately or quickly as their classmates.
A two-hour presentation on Adapted Gym Activities will be presented by Eric J. Pollock, MSPT to Physical Education Teachers. The presentation can either be held at Little Wonders Child Growth & Development Center, IncŪ in East Norriton
or at your facility.
The presentation will provide a background of the uniqueness of children with special needs and how simple manipulations in communication, rules or various components of a game can help each child participate successfully. Several activities and
games will be discussed and demonstrated to convey the importance of teaching turn-taking, communication and teamwork, as well as help each child build self-esteem.
